The community was already starting to turn on Matt well before 2024. He's appointed himself release manager for every version of WP since 5.0 in 2018, which is how Gutenberg managed to land in core in such a half-baked state.

The sandboxing requires CF workers though, as it depends on V8 isolates. Seems fair enough, but it'd be nice to see easily deployable cross-platform support someday for isolates or something similar, and not just for emdash.

Not really my experience with Claude, and the prompts are not how I would phrase them, but still pretty damn funny: I especially loved the slot-machine-style picker for LLM-isms.

I would imagine that “close enough” is a thing with ICBMs.

Running Firefox here, no problems whatsoever even with UBO and Privacy Badger disabled (the twitter embeds get blocked at the DNS level, but I doubt those are the problem).

Works on phone but not on my linux desktop.

Mac here. There's nothing all that interesting going on with the JS on that page, so I would suspect a bug with Firefox and/or your desktop environment.

Codex found the root cause:

> The site’s graph incorrectly uses 32 texture bindings, exceeding its WebGPU device’s limit of 16. > Firefox 153 mishandles that failed rendering operation and leaves the compositor waiting

So a firefox + website bug

With an updated firefox, the website works except the mindmap on the top right

> Uncaptured WebGPU error: Too many bindings of type SampledTextures in Stage ShaderStages(FRAGMENT), limit is 16, count was 32. Check the limit `max_sampled_textures_per_shader_stage` passed to `Adapter::request_device`

One imagines when one puts up a publicly accessible mirror and adds it to the plugin's public mirror list, that they're cool with the public actually, yunno, using it.

Username certainly does check out.

an odd place to be a hotbed of vegan advocacy.

Hah! https://terrybisson.com/theyre-made-out-of-meat-2/

Many vegans I know were in fact motivated to that choice by realizing that meetings of humans were in fact "meat space."

MY LUNGS ARE ADAPTING! I'VE INHALED A ROAST

The release version just now updated to 152.0.7977.83 which has the fix.

I upgraded Vivaldi, which is reporting 152.0.7977.112

Presumably Verisign is the owner of the y domain and wouldn't dare sell it off to the highest bidder...
