So, did Myspace have to make a stand and really do this? I mean today Facebook buys Instagram and now Myspace buys Photobucket? Hmmm....not sure about that move Myspace!
This was a big deal when it actually happened. You're reading a very old article. At that point in time, Myspace was only beginning its inevitable downfall and was already owned by News Corp. Justin Timberlake and an internet ad company, Specific Media, bought Myspace for $35 million less than a year ago. Finally, News Corp/Myspace resold Photobucket to another company a few years ago for a fraction of the original price.
I am not a programmer but more of a BD person and outside thinker. I do agree a company should have both a BD/Programmer because a programmer doesn't want to sit around talking about a strategy or learn stats or projections. I don't know if that makes sense.
@gamechangr, thanks for the headsup. I am in search of general programmers with some background in php, flash, C++. I am sure I can always look here at HN. Thanks.
You don't have any contact info in your profile. I consider myself a web generalist with experience in php. This (web) programming being my second career I'm not sure how to rate my ability but if you have a well defined spec that won't change I can provide a solution ...
Anyway, I'm not so confident that I have deleted my LinkedIn profile. In fact I am working on building my soft skills and that site has been very helpful to me lately. You can easily find me there or with google. Maybe I can help you?
I'm a little surprised they are still a service provider. I mean I would think they would have changed there model to be more of a service for those who do "Pay as you go". Hmmm.
