I don't know what you're referring to with "the philosopher getting women's number of teeth wrong". Aristotle did get it wrong. There are scholarly work exploring why he got it wrong. Or am I just completely missing your point?

My point was, making an example out of Aristotle's mistake is only "legitimate" if you yourself don't make any major mistakes in your talk. Ie, if Alan's wrong about the 0.23%, and then makes fun of Aristotle for getting a number wrong, them you're [Alan] just making a fool yourself.
I don't question at all that Aristotle got the number of teeth wrong, lol.
