My dual cpu z600 running 12 cores (24 with HT) is virtually silent. The GPU is the loudest part and hardly audible. I keep it in my living room.

Same here. I believe the Z600 series was specifically designed to be quiet.

It's a great design. My only desire for change really is that I had the z800 which is a bit bigger so I could hold more stuff :)

Ditto but with a passively cooled GTX1050ti and nvme drive it's a solid workstation.
