I work at a private intelligence firm in London. We provide intelligence and risk analysis to oil companies, banks, insurance firms etc.

In the office next to me there is a PhD in classics, a MA in maths, and a PhD in ancient history. They all make over £150k (that's like $240k).

I don't earn that much as I work in a different part of the firm, so I'm not boasting.
